Travel Awards

NACSETAC is pleased to offer $100 travel awards to help sponsor the attendance of an active NACSETAC member to attend one of our Annual Meetings or Short Courses. With the intent to help offset out-of-pocket expenses by some of our members who do not receive support from their workplace to attend scientific meetings, this award is based on financial need and offered at the discretion of the NACSETAC Board of Directors. One or more scholarships may be awarded depending upon available resources.

Applicants must meet the following criteria:

• Financial Need
• Active membership in NAC SETAC
• Meeting registration offset requires the recipient to give either a platform or poster presentation
• Demonstrate motivation and reason for wanting to attend the NACSETAC Meeting or Short course
• A letter of support from the student’s advisor

The candidate must fill out an application (2016 NACSETAC Annual Meeting Student Travel Award Document), submit an abstract, and attach required documentation of advisor support to be considered for an award. Selection will be determined by the NACSETAC President and his/her committee, consisting of two NACSETAC officers.

• Best Student Platform Presentation
• Best Student Poster Presentation
• Best First-Time Student NACSETAC Platform Presentation
• Best First-Time Student NACSETAC Poster Presentation

PATTI REILLY MEMORIAL CARDNO STUDENT AWARD IN THE NATURAL SCIENCES

• Best Student Oral or Poster Presentation in the Natural Sciences

Best Student Poster / Best Student Platform Presentations

A $100 award each to Best Student Poster and Best Student Platform presentations.

Qualifying Criteria for Student Poster & Platform Awards

1. The individual must have been the primary contributor on the work.
2. The individual must have been an active student within the last year.
3. The individual must present his/her own work.
4. Poster presenters must attend the entire poster session & be available for questions.
5. Presentations will be evaluated according to SETAC criteria listed at:
   Platform presentations: Platform Judging (PDF)
   Poster presentations:  Poster Judging (PDF)

Best Student First-Time Poster / Best Student First-Time Platform Presentations

NACSETAC will sponsor a $100 award each to the Best Poster and Platform presentations by a First-time student presenter at a NACSETAC meeting.  For more information please contact Emily Monosson at president@nacsetac.org.

Qualifying Criteria for Student Poster & Platform Awards

1. The individual must have been the primary contributor on the work.
2. The individual must have been an active student within the last year.
3. The individual must present his/her own work and be a first time presenter at a NACSETAC meeting. Clarification:  Must not have presented in the category (platform or poster) at other scientific national, regional, or local meetings.
4. Poster presenters must attend the entire poster session & be available for questions.
