2016 Science Communication Workshop

Alan Alda Center for Communicating Science Workshop: Improvisation for Scientists

This Fall, we are delighted to offer a Science Communication Workshop!

The workshop will take place on October 24th at the Marine Biological Laboratory (MBL) in Woods Hole, MA and is through the Alan Alda Center for Communicating Science.

Titled “Improvisation for scientists, ” the workshop will teach valuable lessons about how we can more successfully talk about science to the public. It features small group break-out sessions to practice communicating your work/research effectively with people outside your field. More information about this workshop may be found here.

On day of, registration beings at 8:00 AM and the workshop will end at approximately 5:30 PM.

 

Cost and Registration

The registration fee is $200 for members and government entities, $250 for non-members, and $100 for students. If you are not currently a member, you may pay the $15 due and receive the member discount during registration.

Registration covers the cost of the course, lunch, and coffee breaks.

We expect it to fill quickly so register early!

Lodging

Overnight accommodations are available at various venues in the Woods Hole area. Alternatively, rooms may be reserved at the MBL conference center through NAC at the rates listed here (http://www.mbl.edu/conferences/2015-rate-sheet/).
